Born in Cuneo (ITALY) during Summer 2007 from an idea of the two guitarists Alberto Cornero and Alessandro Martines, the Ape Unit came a real band one year later, with the arrival of Mariano ‘Marius’ Somà (vocals), Marco ‘Los’ Losano (drums) – both from the brutal band Septycal Gorge - and the bassist from the hc band Occhi Pesti, Gianluca ‘Soviet’ Delfino. In the Winter 2008 they recorded @ Soviet's place they’re first EP, “Albert”.

After an appearance on an international compilation in 2009 (“DeCOMPosed” by the U.S. based label S.O.R.), the first live gigs, the band lost Alessandro Martines and Soviet, but gained a new bassist, Umberto Salvetti (Summer 2011): with that new line up, the band started to play more live gigs, in Northern Italy and abroad, sharing the stage with cool grind bands like Wormrot, Maruta, Jesus Ain’t In Poland, Tools of the Trade.

In Spring 2012 the band recorded their first album, “Unforgivable Holidays” (co-produced by the Italian labels Tanto di Cappello Records and Grindpromotion), a musical portrait of all the influences and ingredients of their sound: old school grindcore, powerviolence, sludge, noise-rock arrangements, naïve attitude with a violent impact.
